Alyvia Hensley
Certified Veterinary Assistant
Hi, my name is Alyvia Hensley, and I am a Veterinary Assistant at Dermatology Clinic for Animals. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, baking, and spending time with my dog and husband. I have a dog named Zupa, an almost 5-year-old shepherd mix who is full of energy, loves to play, and is completely obsessed with his ball — his goofy personality is always keeping me entertained. I also have three cats, so I've always been surrounded by animals and enjoy caring for a variety of pets.
Favorite Part of My Job
One of my favourite things about veterinary care is the opportunity to improve an animal's quality of life and help them feel better.
Why I Chose This Profession
Growing up around animals, I developed a strong appreciation for the bond between animals and their owners, and seeing how veterinary professionals make a difference inspired me to pursue veterinary medicine. My interest really began with my childhood cat, Meatball, who was diagnosed with diabetes — watching the care and dedication that went into managing his condition gave me a deeper appreciation for the field. That experience sparked my interest in animal health and inspired me to pursue a career where I can help animals and support the people who love them, just as veterinarians helped Meatball and my family.
Education
I completed the Veterinary Assistant program at Pima Medical Institute from July 2021 to February 2022, earning my Veterinary Assistant Certification.
Work History
I worked as a Veterinary Assistant at Edgewood Veterinary Clinic from March 2022 to August 2025.
