Alexis Hogenson
Veterinary Assistant
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors, whether that be hiking, snowboarding or going for a walk. Soccer is also a big part of my life - I enjoy both playing soccer and coaching club soccer.
Favorite Part of My Job
My favorite part of my job is the opportunity to continuously learn and grow. I enjoy expanding my knowledge and developing a better understanding of dermatologic conditions so I can provide the best possible care for our patients and support for our clients. It's extremely rewarding watching patients improve and have a better quality of life.
Why I Chose This Profession
I have always had a strong interest in veterinary medicine. Previously, I worked in general practice, but I was especially drawn to dermatology because it offered a chance to continue expanding my skills and growth as a veterinary assistant.
Education
My high school offered a pre-veterinary tech class in high school. I have completed 1 year of the veterinary technician program at Pierce College.
Professional Background
I previously worked for 4 years as a veterinary/surgery assistant at Puyallup Valley Veterinary Clinic. I've enjoyed transitioning to dermatology as it is my preferred area of veterinary medicine. I enjoy supporting patients and clients through ongoing care and treatment.
